Emeneya Nkuamambu sprang from the school of Papa Wemba. Discovered by the Kinshasa public at the beginning of the 1980s, Kester Emeneya is renowned as one of the most well-known singers of modern Congolese music.

During the short period when Papa Wemba left his own group to sing with his idol Tabu Ley, Kester capably held the reins of Viva Musica. Shortly after Papa Wemba’s return, Kester left Viva Musica, and in 1982 created his own group, Le Victoria Eleison. Notable releases include: Nzinzi and Mukusa.
