It was in the young group, Kibinda Nkoy, formed in the Kintambo neighborhood of Kinshasa, where Fally Ipupa polished his craft before going on to join the ranks of the Latin Quarter with Koffi Olomide. With the help of Koffi Olomide’s producer, Fally was given a central role in the group and given a real chance to shine.
Fally’s first album, “Liputa” hit the bars and cafes of Kinshasa, respecfully but firmly encroaching on the territory of the giants of Congolese music, Wenge BCBG, Maison Mère with JB Mpiana and Werrason. Kinshasa awoke to the completely revolutionary vision of this young musician with the off-kilter hat and the low-hung jeans.
In promotion of his album, the catchy songs of which lodge firmly in one’s head, Fally is performing in an increasing number of concerts both within Kinshasa and internationally.
